The women choir began in the church in the year 1998 by some women in church during one of the Sunday services under Revd. Dr. KOLA OJEMOLA.
The Women Choir was inaugurated on Sunday 19th November, 1998 by Rev. Dr. J.O. Ojemola with Eighteen (18) interested women among the members of the Church and on Wednesday that followed the Sunday of inauguration, the Women Choristers assembled in the church to elect the leader of the choir and its secretary.
Mrs. G.O. Ojo was elected as the pioneer leader (Choir Mistress) while Mrs. R. Adesomoju was chosen as the Secretary. She held the position for two years, then handed over to Mrs. E.O. Adesina..
As from that time, the Women Choir practice has been holding 5.00p.m every Wednesday.
The First Annual Service of songs took place on Sunday, 21st November, 1999 at 10.30a.m in the church auditorium and since then, the Annual Women Choir service of songs has always held on 3rd Sunday of every November till date.
Some pioneer members like Mrs. E.O. Adeshina, Mrs. R.A. Adesomoju and Mrs. Kehinde Adekoya, who have held key positions in the women choir, are still members of the women choir till date. Some members have relocated to their home towns while some went abroad. God has been faithful.
Some members of the Women Choir that have passed on to glory are Mrs. C.A. Oyekunle, Mrs. A.O. Kuti, Mrs. E.I. Banmeke, Mrs. R.A. Ojemola (Mama Mission) and Mrs. S.O. Alaba. We pray that God will continue to uphold their families in Jesus name.
The current director of the Women Choir is Mrs. C.A. Adediran and the Adviser/Patron of the Women Choir is Dr. Olatunji Bolade.
